Re: My 81 Step Side

the wheels are on my dads vette project ill get some pics up later, and no i dont have a pic of the firebird scoops but i had them mounted facing forward like the pic below fiberglassed them in, i was driving down the road one day and a flock of birds flew from the side of the road one of which did not make the trip across the road. all in slow motion i saw the birds body catch the opening of the scoops and the head snap off and fly over the truck

Re: My 81 Step Side

Hey man nice build I have ben working on one my self for over a year I know what you mean about getting your mine off the bull that happens in this world.
I would like to know where you got the cab/radiator support mounts at and did they come as a kit with the bolts and brackets to? I need the complete mount kits for the radiator support.

(This is my build) http://s1210.photobucket.com/albums/...exasbigbear21/

Re: My 81 Step Side

i got the bushings at autozone they came as a set both the top and bottom bushing for all four cab corners and both radiator support holes. i had to reuse my old cups i just took the old bushing off and using a grinder with a wire brush head, then painted them black, and the hardware I picked up from our local hardware store for like 3 bucks

Thanks man I will check that out I bet it is a lot cheaper than ordering the entire set from lmc for $150 bucks. Toyota makes a nice metallic blue that I am considering, I like the blue and black theme.

Re: My 81 Step Side

Thanks man I love working on it but its a lot to do on such a small budget. I spent over a year getting all the parts I was going to need.

Hey I found the mount's at summit for $57

Re: My 81 Step Side

Enjoying this thread, please keep posting. Trying to stick with it on my '75 , building it out back and soon to be trying to build it on the sidewalk as it's switching to on-street parking when I lose the spot for it.

Re: My 81 Step Side

I've had a shake/vibration thats driven me up the wall since i bought my truck. I'm slowly replacing/balancing/centering eveything in the driveline. I bet with a driveshaft balance and new u-joints you'll be good.
