Re: Nice 76 factory 454 shortbed

Bought it yesterday for $3200 .

Just kidding . I am sure he has that in the engine. Its not mine . Wish it was . It belongs to a friend. He bought it out of Cali and did a frame off in his garage. He painted it in the garage you see. The bigblock sounds rowdy. It has Spintech mufflers on it with an X pipe built in the exhaust system and the cutouts. He will be taking it to the track . The wheels just came in and I went to see the truck Sunday evening. He had been running Rallys on it until his wheels came in . It looked great with the Rallys but the Budniks really set it off. We used my wheels from the black truck to determine what sizes he wanted to order . I didnt get any pics with my Intros on it when we had them on it but I do like the way my wheels look on a white truck. It is a pretty rowdy street truck so he knew he wanted a larger profile to the tires . It also has a huge front and a huge rear swaybar setup on it .Should handle pretty well . Mike and a friend of his did the build in the garage . He cleaned the trim and I think it is all of the original trim which speaks well of Cali trucks . If you have an opportunity, buy one from out there . I didnt even think about taking an underhood shot yesterday .

It needs a lot of tire on the rear . I actually like the whole build. It is a bigblock that is far from stock , lowered just enough to make the tires look right and wearing the complete trim for the 76 Silverado . I dont think a 245 would look right at all and I know it wouldnt handle what he is going to throw at it . He is going to add some Caltracs to try to plant those Nittos.

I told him lowering it a little might lead to wanting to lower it more . I actually love the way the truck looks and sits . It looks better in person than in the pics . It is also wearing a set of large tube Super Comp headers that may limit how much he could lower it .

Anthony, I had to slip that little pic in . I drove the truck last night for the first time in a while .I was on the way to town and looked down at the speedo. 85mph in old blackie and slowed it up just in time to see the man. It rides really smooth at that speed though.

Wow X6

I agree Frank, I think it looks great as it sits. I'm a guy that likes them down low, but this one looks great as it is.

That things nice!!! It's cool to see that '454' emblem on a shortbed half ton...

I wouldn't change a thing.... except for the name on the title.

Looks like a sweet truck. You need to get a better pic of it with your black truck. A Black/White truck comparison.

Keith,
I am pretty sure it is the loud switch. Flip that and the exhaust opens up with the cutouts. I wish I had time to take some pics of the exhaust . It is nicely done.
