Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Replaced both rubber fuel lines on my 67 chasing a vapor lock issue. The one from the frame to the pump I know had been replaced when I did the pump. The one from the tank to the frame... Original 1967, complete with undercoating and spring type fasteners. Here's to hoping...

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I replaced the tail/stop lamps in my 68. They were some a friend gave me, LED style, Chinese made. I got home from the local cruise in at about dusk last night and decided to walk around the truck to check the tail lights before putting it in the garage. And to my surprise I had no tail lights! I knew I had power back there as I had a license light. So this morning I pulled out two new 1157s and we're back in business. The LED lamps had come loose in the sockets. Both of 'em, go figure.

Installed courtesy lights. Simple up grade that makes a huge improvement to lighting in your cab. Thanks to Board member Roger Koop. Check out his wiring harness on the parts board.

Oh it's different alright. If you like it that's all that matters. I'd say you have a conversation starter there. It's a Texas thing.

Put a 211 LED bulb ( in your under dash lights too ) in your interior dome light and it'll be like daylight when you open a door at night.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

added a 1 inch spacer under my carb chasing a hot start issue, installed a daytime running light kit, and installed jute padding on my firewall. What a job that last one is, I should have done that first instead of last.

Where did you order the jute padding for your firewall? Did you get pre cut? If you did how well did it fit? Thanks

Think I fixed the vapor lock issue, so I gave her a much needed bath.

Got them from repops. Got the left firewall, center, and righ side firewall, they all fit extremely well, only had to tear apart half the dash to get them installed. Hardest part though was inserting the plastic plugs into the firewall holes. All precut.

When I got my truck, the tail lights worked intermittently. Figured out the bulbs were wiggling in the sockets. But since my truck doesn't have a bed, I used a set of sealed LED lights from a parts store.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I'm a day late but it shouldn't matter. 2 days ago I installed the Classic Gauge and Cluster (Member TBONE1964) voltage gauge replacing the original ammeter gauge. Yesterday I swapped out the original 7/8 inch front sway with its tired bushings for a 1 /1/4 bar from a 1985 C30 truck and Energy Suspensions Polyurethane bushing. I should have taken before and aft pics of the sway bars but forgot.
