Can epoxy primer be brushed on

I've been thinking about using a brush to epoxy the underside of the cab on my 61. I don't see any reason it won't work, but I'm not a painter. Also, I don't care if it's smooth like a sprayed finish or not, I just don't want it to start rusting again.

If any of you have done this before let me know how it turned out. Good or bad.
