New Blazer Reproduction Hatch Company

I recently stumbled upon this company making reproduction hatches on Ebay. Has anyone else seen this or even bought one to try? I am curious how well built they are and how the fitment is.

Looks promising. I wonder if it’s as good as they say it is.

Re: New Blazer Reproduction Hatch Company

I sent the gentleman a message requesting pictures of it mounted on a 69-72 BLAZER/JIMMY/GM hardtop. Crossing fingers...

Bringing this back to the top. I need a rear hatch and all of the hardware with it. Has anyone seen one yet?

Re: New Blazer Reproduction Hatch Company

I asked for pictures, here is his reply:
You know sorry I don't, but you can be the first. In fact I did two for some local guys, however they seem to be the head officers for the procrastinators Club they keep putting off the first meeting. The hatch is a nice piece and if your not pleased you can return it for a full refund. The hatch needs finishing and painting white, or the color of your choice.

Re: New Blazer Reproduction Hatch Company

Looks better than the repop hatch I bought off Brothers 20 years ago, for about the same money. That thing still rattles.

Getting the hardware [latches, catches, hinges, relay rods, twist handle, etc.] is the big problem. You're supposed to reuse your old stuff. If your stuff went everywhere when the first hatch went ker-bang, or you bought a K/5 as a topless Convertible, then it's ''Go Fish.''
You could post a WTB [Want To Buy] ad in the Parts section.

I bought from both these guys, and while I haven't installed them yet, they look to be good quality.

Handle mechanism by member Jesse B.

And relay rods by member anew4961

And there is always member 1rippen6 for used parts

OK. I was just about to mention 1rippen6. He's OK. I got some hatch pieces/parts for my '71 Jimmy from him 4 years ago.

10 plus years ago they were tried, owners were not happy with them then.

Re: New Blazer Reproduction Hatch Company

I asked the guy on eBay about one.

He said:

"Let me get some orders ahead of you out, and I'll be glad to make you one, should be about 3 weeks.

Thanks
David"

I'll let you know in a few months.

Now I just need to find latches. My top is missing them, top side.

Re: New Blazer Reproduction Hatch Company

Only $2,385.84 before taxes plus $50 crate fee plus shipping for a fully assembled hatch! Not exactly a bargain. Seems like you could find a complete single wall top with nice hatch for at least half of that based on my strolls through craigslist. But I guess if you are out of options this is the way to go. Looks to be quality stuff. Glad I got a nice original and complete spare 20 years ago

Re: New Blazer Reproduction Hatch Company

I’m wondering how the repo compares to original. I know it’s pricey but at least it’s an option if you can’t find one.
