Which posi unit would you recommend?

I have a 1971 Chevy Longbed with a stock rearend and mild 350. My rear-end just started leaking and I figured, I have always wanted posi, but I have no experience with them. Please send me which unit would be best.

Thanks

The stock Eaton style works well. It has springs and clutches. Make sure to add the additive or ot will chatter on turns

.
I found this while changing the rear end oil today. I assume this is a posi but it doesn't look like the others that I have seen.

Re: Which posi unit would you recommend?

I have a eaton posi with 373's in my truck maybe I should let you drive it for a few days so you can have a feel for it & see how it handles then see if thats what you want.. But then again if you do you might want more then just a posi unit. "How bout BigBlock" That truck would look sweet & sound even better with a BigBlock now that it's not your daily driver. Also You might want to buy some gears well your at it too so you only have to open the Diff once.

Re: Which posi unit would you recommend?

Thanks guys for all the feedback. The consensus is between the Auburn and the Eaton. I will start pricing both now.

Re: Which posi unit would you recommend?

Sorry for signing in late on this, but I vote for the True-trac. No clutches, no noise, no chattering, and no special lube needed.

Whatever else you might be considering, DON"T get a Gov-loc. GM used them as OE and they are unspeakably awful.
