5/7 drop question...

thought i might wait till after winter to drop my new to me 92 chevy sport.
but not sure ill be able to make it that long. used to riding everything low. so the stock height is kinda killing me.
so i was wondering what i should expect to pay for a 5*7 drop.
kit or piece it up??

think i paid a little over 8 for a 5-7 drop on my 86 c10
can i get good parts cheaper then that?? or is that the ball park?
thanks for any advice

Re: 5/7 drop question...

Last time I checked for a 5/7 drop with shocks it was around $700. I used one of our vendors(avs--Jason Warmuth). I had the quote done a few months ago --but I wasn't ready so he told me to keep the quote and he would honor it when I was. Hows that for business!!!!! Seemed pretty awesome to me so I will be going with them soon !!!!

Re: 5/7 drop question...

$700-800 ball park depending on what shocks & shipping.

Just stick with the brand names you are familiar with.

I used all Western Chassis stuff on my 98 & have been pleased.

thanks for replies guys.
i went with cpp for parts on my 85. now looking around for parts for the newer truck. plan to pick up another c10 down the road. buying my first house and ill need something for the garage
just didnt knwo if prices would be the same on this yr truck. guess ill try and track down a kit with all the parts as opposed to trying to piece it all. prob a little cheaper that way.
guessing shock are a must. so ill be looking for spindles, shocks, springs, flip kit in rear, notch...bolt in i guess. i dont/cant weld. and i think shackle in rear.
if im right thats what i had on the c10. think shackle in rear is the word im looking for.
thanks again. ill look around. thought there might have been a link to good parts or seller.
thanks again.

Sounds like you've got it right. Spindles & Spring in front then flip kit, bolt in notch & shackles in the rear. Also, new shocks all the way around & an alignment.

Re: 5/7 drop question...

thanks. wasnt sure on the shackle but i do remember the guy had to cut into bed support or rail to make space for the shackle.
i thought about buying parts and attempting to install myself. did it on the c10 less the spindle.
was affraid id damage ball joints and what not trying to pry them off the spindle. times are hard. dont want to damage and need to spend more$$ on stuff right now.
low budget/slowww build ahead.

Re: 5/7 drop question...

Also, cut the bed support directly above the rearend pumpkin.

And trim the control arms if you are running a 17" or small wheel.
