Question FITech Experiences ?

Hey, I was doing some research and came across a newer bolt on FI product. The company is called FITech. From the research I've done so far it seems they do some OE work and this is their entry in to aftermarket.
Besides some interesting features on the unit itself they offer a "fuel command center" which is essentially a separate small fuel feeder tank and pump that feeds the FI unit from supply by your regular fuel pump so it makes it a fairly easy install.

Limited reviews as I believe they have only been shipping since the spring but I haven't found any real negatives yet. Oh yeah, very attractive price point.

Below is a link to their website and then a review I found with some Dyno time comparison. If you google you can find some more reviews and some youtube videos.

Anyone running one of these or know of those who are? I'm considering giving one a try but looking for some more input.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

I brought this up About a week back

Read some good reviews on the corvette forum

I'm likely to purchase one after the first of the year got too many balls in the air right now

Also there's a write up on the install in the c10 builders magazine I picked up the other day

Re: FITech Experiences ?

I'm curious on how big that command center deal is and if it will be worth it or just run a return system...

They have the CAD drawing on their site.

I have heard from folks who are running them at the local Auto-X that they are working great. I am planning to visit them on my holiday break. Very seriously looking to do this for my panel.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

Seems to be a good product. I suspect like anything else that once its proven to work well and become popular the price will go up like the rest of the aftermarket units. I`d love to get one myself but not in the funds right now.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

I posted this in another post. I have this new system on pre order. A buddy is running the 600 HP version for the last year with no problems.

So I was talking to FiTech today and got the scoop on a new system that should be out in the next 30-45 days. This will be their Go Street version, which will be selling at $795!!!

What they are doing is using injectors to support up to 400 HP, no timing control (which many of their customers are not using with their higher series units), no boost or nitrous control. It still has the self learning, wide band O2 sensor and much of the same functions that the 600HP unit has.

This is going to put a very affordable EFI system in reach to so many folks who thought it would be too expensive. Heck, add their Fuel Command center and you won't need to do any fuel tank mods. I am hoping to get one of the first of the Go Street units!

Video they just released - https://youtu.be/LK-qLlGotUU

I also posted in the other thread.
Just curious if Computer Controlled Spark has any advantage. Otherwise, I'm waiting for the $795 one.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

Lostmy65, good point, would an hei distributor be what they are saying as a 'special distributor'? How does one go and pre-order that model? Part number?

Has no advantage over running hooked to HEI. If you have the HEI dialed in you will see no advantage over the FiTech controlling timing.
Either way you will have to Curve your HEI and set timing. And if you let FiTech control timing you will have to phase your dizzy. So you have to get it setup correctly to begin with either way.

I post all of this on my build thread already just have to read through the posts. But figure I would post it again.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

Will the Fitech work with a semi rough cam?
I think my engine only pulls about 10# vacuum at idle.

Yes it will. I have a big cam and have no issues. I pull less vacuum than that at idle.

Thanks.
I'm about as anxious for the pre-order on this Go Street FiTech as the release of the coolest new Smartphone.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

So I see the advantage of using the FCC, but for $395 is it worth it, or would it be just as expensive to install a tank that uses an in tank fuel pump?

Go back a few pages on my trad and you will see what I have in the fuel setup. FCC is cheaper by a long shot. But I went intank setup for a clean install look.

Yep, I posted too soon.
I just came across that post in your thread.
Your thread freakin rocks with info on the install.
I see another joined this forum just because of your thread. He probably googled Fitech and your thread was one of the top hits.

Haha. Thanks Man. I try to be as detailed as possible so people know what they are getting into. I can't stand when people post half ass info and leave people hanging. It helps out everyone when you give all the details so that is what I try and do.
