Blazer... Barrett Jackson

I've been looking for a late square Blazer to go with my 85K30. While at Barrett Jackson last weekend in Scottsdale, I found this one which I bid on. I never expected it would sell for $32k!! Bummed out, I came across this 91 all original right here near home. $3500 is much more my price. I've discovered the 91 might be the holy Grail of years. 350 TBI, serpentine belt, a/c, 4l60, 4x4, stock and unmolested, rust free Az vehicle. Come Saturday, I'm hoping it's in my driveway.

You have a rust free 91 that runs for $3500, jump on it.

Nice find. I looked at a local one a few months back - 1989 K5 Blazer. It had at least a 5k paint job and I could have taken it home for $6.5k. Walked away because it had all the hallmarks of someone else's project - seats were from a 96-98 C/K truck, and the SES light was covered with electrical tape. Few other things that weren't correct either.

They are still around and at good prices.

I just bought this for $18,000. It has 67,000 miles and it looks near perfect from the pictures. It’s on a truck now from Michigan. I should get it within a week.

Friend of mine just got back from Barrett-Jackson. Said the Trucks were really hot this year - 67-72 were bringing big bucks and the 73-87 are starting to get up there as well. Said many sales between 20-40k.

That is crazy, last year I saw a a mint 72 K30 go for less than $20,000. If that truck were for sale locally, it would be at least $20000, I have seen people ask more than that for incorrectly restored c10s!

Re: Blazer... Barrett Jackson

Congratulations! I almost pulled the trigger on that one before I found my 78. My mom had an 86 Custom Deluxe same two tone. All the smog stuff and wanting the yellow with round headlights kept me from that one. Keep us posted. The only things negative I saw on yours was some touch up on the cap and some delaminating paint along the top of the tailgate (mom had to have her whole hood painted for that, first couple years of electrostatic primer and the blue paint seemed the worst). Super nice truck. It brings back a lot of memories.

Trucking company called today and said it will be here in the morning!

It felt like a very fair deal compared to everything I had seen.

I can’t restore one for that price.

BHTH did you go look at it?

Yeah, unless you do everything yourself, you can go north of 20K no problem. I did not go look at it. I talked myself out of it before it got that far. If I had known they would come down that much I may have pursued it more. From all the pics I saw at one point, it looked super clean.
