Any tips on shortening a longbed ?????
I have the frame done but I can't find any good articles on cutting the fleetside bed. I would appreciate any help because I don't want to spend the money on new bed sides. SOMEBODY out there has to have written a GOOD article on this. Thanks-Keith

I saw Stacy David do that once on Trucks.As I remember he unseamed it in the front and useamed it in the rear took the material out in these places and weilded it back up. My self I'd lool around and buy a used bed. Mabey you can find the old eposode at the Trucks website. If I find it I will post it for you.

I have heard that the re-pop short bedsides are among the best fitting aftermarket sheet metal parts available.

Have you tried just looking for a shortbed. There have been several on here for sale reasonablly priced. Im just thinking about the time and energy involved in cutting down a bed. Not knockng your effort because I was going to do it myself, after alot of measuring and contemplating, I found a bed and was done wth it.

Really don't have the money to put into this project right now. That's why I'm trying it. If I botch it too bad I have a long stepside that I can cut . Those appear to be real easy ,but I prefer the fleet. Thanks for your efforts ,guys. I appreciate the help !-Keith PS Maybe I can find someone near me that would trade a short fleet for my solid 67 cab.
