Haha! I couldn't even imagine ever doing it. I love going to shows and staring at details, but to honest, a smoothed block is never a detail I look for or even have ever noticed.

Looks good man! Love the wheels! How did you strip the block? I've got a few different coats of paint on mine and having a hell of a time getting it off. Cory

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

You don't have to slick the whole block, you can get the same results by just smoothing the front of the heads, the intake, water pump and the valley above the timing cover. The rest is hard to see when you get all the accessories installed but it sure makes cleaning the motor easier!

3 cans of aeresol stipper from lowes, along with a round wire brush that goes on your angle grinder(it was $14 at lowes , dewalt brand) and a package of 3 wire brushes that look like toothbrushes also from lowes for about $4 bucks , so about $40 bucks in supplies and about 3 hours labor and a bunch of rags, the toothbrush looking things are a must have to get around the head bolts and spark plug holes with

No kidding. My wife always doubles the amount of money I think a project will take and triples the amount of time I think it will take. She has been pretty close to right every time.
