That 383 will make that 4x4 even more of a rice eater.

Re: John's Project

OK I have an update!!!!! I guess I really need to update this thing more often. It took a while for me to find it.

OK so as some may know, and for those that don't I had a gas tank from Joe231 that I had painted. Well I hadn't got around to getting it installed, and he mentioned that he would like to have two tanks again. So since all I had done was painted it I gave it back to him. So that left me still needing a gas tank. So I went to O'Reilly and picked one up. Dropped the old one and cleaned the brackets up. I'm going with a different paint color this time. I liked the black on the last one, but I wanted something different this time. So I decided on Machine Gray with Satin Black brackets. Here are some in the process shots.

Here are a couple updated pics of the engine. Not much done here. I got the spark plug wires done, and the distributer done. Also a shot of the wire looms I'm using.

Re: John's Project

Thanks guys. Now that it's warmer I am motivated to do more on it. Now I need to go find the rest of the serpentine brackets. Travis, highperf4X4, set me up with the passenger side bracket, now I just need to find the driver's side and I can make some serious progress.

John, the engine is looking really nice. I like how it is coming together. I am interested to see how the tank looks installed. Did you roll that paint on or spray it?

You not subscribed to his thread anymore?

EDIT:Nevermind, I went back and looked and your last post on his thread is after he posted about the 383 when he said "...to build a 383 with..." and "...and then drop it in the 4x4." Must've just read over it, brotha.

And John, lookin' sweet man. Better be at the next meet for me to take multiple angle pictures of it.

Since John was getting ragged on in another thread, I thought I would bump his. Maybe that'll get a fire going.........

Re: John's Project

Thanks man, but it probably won't. I'm in the works of selling it right now. Sad to see it end like this, but there are just other things that I need to get taken care of, and the funds just keep getting depleted out of the truck fund. So it's just a case of bad timing. I'll have another one someday, and I'm not going anywhere. Just the truck.

Re: John's Project

sorry to hear that, but I understand. I keep thinking I should sell mine and pay off some debt, but I figure my wife would probably run it back up again. Where is all the fun in that? Besides, my daughter loves my truck. Can't sell it now, she's attached.

Do you have it sold, or just thinking about it?

Re: John's Project

It's sold, well kind of. My cousin is buying it. I just need to get it taken out to his house. Going to try that next week if everything goes according to plan. He's not in any hurry for it, and don't even really know why he's buying it. He has more projects going on now than what he has time for.
