Angry Can anyone help me?

The other day I was driving down the road, and my truck died, it seemed like the lights faded out and all' I replaced my alternator amdthat wasn't the problem! So I pulled the line off the carb and it's getting no gas, so i replaced fuel pump.. And still no gas! I filled it up that day, so i know there's gas In it, can anyone help me? It's dual tanks with a 350 and a 650 Edlebrock carb.
When I put gas in the carb and the fuel line it runs for a few seconds and dies!

Re: Can anyone help me?

You can put a vacuum gauge on the inlet of the fuel pump to see it does have suction. Sounds to me that you may have a leak in one of the hoses coming from the fuel tank or a malfucntion with your tank switch. Any way you look at it the pump is not drawing fuel from the tanks. Check your hoses at the switch under the cab and at the fuel tanks.

Re: Can anyone help me?

Probably the tank selector valve under the truck shorted out and is stuck inbetween tank hoses, draining your alt juice and blocking off the fuel.

I did see some gas leaking from under there, but for some reason theres like a hard plastic line that's been cut and capped off, you know what this is ?

No, they weren't! however, they worked when I got the truck And I used both for a while, & I stopped, and hadn't tried it for about a year now. Is there a way to bypass this switch ?

and could something in the tank or lines be clogged?

Re: Can anyone help me?

You can remove the lines from the valve and pic your favorite tank and hook them up direct. If you are still having alt problems you can un plug selector valve but your gas gauge wont work.

There are 3 lines from the motor, 3 line from the left tank, and 3 lines from the right tank. They all meet at the selector valve. Connect the 3 lines from the tank you want to use to the lines from the motor. You can use the rubber hoses you already have. The 3 set of lines are different sizes so you cant get them wrong if you pay attention.

The big line goes to the vaper canister.
The medium line is the fuel line.
The small line is the return line.
The line to your rear axle is a brake line.
All the lines run along the inside of the right frame rail, they disapear behind the motor mount brace, you are probably mistaking one line for another.

Re: Can anyone help me?

OK, take the 2 lines of the front of the valve that go to the motor.
Take the 2 line off the rear of the valve that go to the right tank.
Conect the 2 lines from motor to the 2 lines from the right tank.
Dont worry about the 3rd line thats T-ed off, and not connected to the valve because its just a vaper line. Then see if itll start.
