My Suburban Crew Cab Conversion

Just wanted to share my 89 GMC suburban to crew cab conversion with 3 extra inches behind the rear door. Still a work in progress. Long term plan is the build a flat bed out of the remainder rear floor add a lift and bigger tires.

No sorry. Got as far as I could go with no money and loaned tools. I do plan on using the remainder bed?cargo floor to build the flat bed off of to save $$$. Thanks for the interest.

Re: My Suburban Crew Cab Conversion

I have planned out how to do this myself if I want a 4x4 crew.

But in my plans I would cut or drill out the rivets for the spring hangers, and cross members behind the rear axle. Then from my measurements I could slide the pieces 3-4 inches back for a nicer look when I fabricate a bed.

Re: My Suburban Crew Cab Conversion

That's a good idea and it would make for a cleaner look for sure. But Im trying to keep the cost as low as possible, Ive got $1400 in everything so far and would have to get a longer driveshaft? And its a 1990 not an 89, my bad.

If anyone wants the rear barn doors and cargo area side class with reusable gaskets let me know? Doors are in decent shape and side glass in factory tinted. Free, Free, Free located in 30517 area code must pick up.

Re: My Suburban Crew Cab Conversion

Hello. After a long hard life break I would like to finish my project Burb/Crew MegaCab conversion. I'm looking for a cheap as possible longbed and frame and might be interested in a flatbed if the price is right also needing the rear drive shaft. The longer the better! I live in North Georgia. Anybody have anything out there? Thanks ahead, John.

Re: My Suburban Crew Cab Conversion

I've looked locally and no luck. Found one on CL in Newnan for a good price. Just a bit to far of a drive for me.
