The cup holders are the best part about it though, because now I don't have to drive with a cup between my legs that could spill with the wrong movements lol

I love it so much that I want to find a brown one that goes with the interior more, then I'll stick this one in my Dakota

Re: Frankentruck

A bunch of my friends and I are going to my buddy's lake house on Saturday to watch the SEC championship game. We needed some pallets for a bonfire, so I volunteered Frankentruck to put in a little bit of work. Nothing too major, but Frankentruck had no problem with a full load

Re: Frankentruck

I just read your entire thread! Great job!

Nice to see another GA guy on the board also. I have been to the Milledgeville car show a few years ago...I hope to make it back again, lots of nice cars and trucks.

Thanks! I went to that show the past two years. It's really easy to go considering it's only about 5 minutes from my house down here You should bring the truck up for next year's show.

I really like your long stepper. I think those are pretty neat, and kinda want a long step bed of my own

Re: Frankentruck

"Look's like we got ourselves a convoy" - CW McCall

Convoy North on 441 to the meet:

Meet at the Walmart in Madison between 7:30 and 8 AM
There is a Chick-Fil-A near there, so if we want to meet there for some chicken biscuits, that's good with me.
Address for the Walmart: 1681 Eatonton Rd, Madison, GA 30650
I am planning to be there at 7:30, so just look for Frankentruck in the parking lot

Google Maps says it's a little under 2 hours to get to the location, so leave Madison at 8 AM sharp to arrive just a couple of minutes before 10 AM
Address for meet: 41 Asa Dorsey Rd, Cleveland, GA 30528

Speeds will be somewhere between 60 and 70 mph depending on the road.

If you want to join the convoy, please PM me or reply here so I know how many trucks I am expecting.

If your truck isn't ready, or still being built, but you still want to come and hang out at the meet, you are more than welcome!

I didn't even think to put a video in, that would've been a nice touch

Re: Frankentruck

I'm still planning on going up

Following from Chaz Sosebee:

RAIN OR SHINE!

What: Winter Meet
When: 12-8-18 10:00AM
Where: 41 Asa Dorsey Road Cleveland Ga 30528

Hey guys! Just an update that we are still having the meet this Saturday RAIN OR SHINE! The big reason for still hosting is the Toys For Tots fundraiser. This meet will help support giving children the Christmas they deserve. I know the weather is showing rain but we can still come together as a club and help support a great cause. We ask that you bring an unopened, unwrapped toy of $20 or less. Club Tennessee had a HUGE turnout at theirs last Saturday so let’s if Club Georgia can do the same! Also, don’t forget to bring along any parts you’d like to sell/trade. Tag people you want to see there!

Looking forward to seeing everyone

Re: Frankentruck

The winter meet was great even though we had a lot of rain. Here's a video from Robbie Purser about some of the trucks that showed up.

https://youtu.be/ANlpUnxwC38

Frankentruck made it from Milledgeville to Cleveland then back to Milledgeville with no issues at all

All the rain made her look nice and shiny

Re: Frankentruck

Something that happened a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't post about was modifying the stock air cleaner base to work with the Quadrajet. I hated how the chrome air cleaner looked, but at the time, I had to run it until I could figure something out.

I don't have a welder, but I was able to go up to Jay's (Jhrusk) shop and we modified the base the same way he did his air cleaner. Big thanks to Jay for welding it up and letting me sandblast the lid to make it look nice and stock again.

To start, we cut a piece of steel and formed it into a ring around the throat of the carb. Once that was done, we cut out the center of the base and tacked the ring to the base. Test fit on the engine proved that we needed a taller ring to clear the top of the HEI dizzy. The ring ended up being 3 inches tall to make it fit with a factory, 68 4 barrel intake manifold. Once Jay welded it all up, the sandblaster went to town stripping all the rust off the lid. Because it rained that whole weekend, I had to wait till that Monday before I could paint it. I just rattle canned it in my backyard, but it turned out pretty good.

I think the stock lid improved the look of under the hood a lot.

Thanks again Jay!

Re: Frankentruck

Got one more final exam for this semester tomorrow, then I'll be headed home for Christmas break.

To get in the Christmas spirit, I've created a tradition for myself of decorating Frankentruck. I've done it for 3 years now, and I think it's great

Merry Christmas everyone!

Re: Frankentruck

What do y'all think?
1) current 15x8 truck rallies, but get factory, metal center caps to go with them
2) 15x8 4 nub steelies
3) 15x8 4 nub steelies with Biscayne hubcaps
4) 15x7 Western Slot Mags
Not pictured) 15x8 4 nub steelies with original 63 c10 hubcaps (would need to find caps)

I want to switch it up a bit, but I don't know what to decide.

I know I can get plastic repop center caps, but I would rather have metal ones if I keep the rallies.

If I go with the 15x8 steelies, I'll need to find 3 more of them. (Just bought this one yesterday)

If I go with the slot mags, I'll need to find either 2 more 15x7s or 4 15x8s (Because I drive the truck so much, I want to be able to rotate my tires)

Please comment below!

Also, I'm waiting on some parts to show up before I can swap in the overdrive trans. I'm hoping to have that done before classes start back on the 14th of January.

Re: Frankentruck

After I messed around with the wheels, I decided to uncover the door logo that took me almost 3 years to notice it was there

Wet sand with 1000 grit for awhile, and this showed up.

It is not the original door to the truck, but it does explain why that door is yellow

Re: Frankentruck

I like option 1 or 3. Leaning towards #3 though, but I do like the center caps. On your truck, I think these 2 look better than the other options. JMO..

I have option 1 on my truck with the metal center caps. I might end up putting rally wheels on mine, so my centers may be up for sale soon. My wheels are 5 lug, but the centers should fit (I think).
