This is a very cool update. Love the paint on the box sides. Looking forward to more of the supercharger install. Keep up the great work.

Looking good. Used that same trick to get the reluctor ring on the output shaft of my 4l60e. Output shaft in the freezer and heated up the ring. Slid right on.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

Thanks Guys....... I will never get this truck finished if i keep the crazy a$$ stuff up!!

Today I install the Russell performance fitting I ordered so I can finish the Power steering lines up.
I was able to get the front accessory drive finished so just need the PS fitting so I can start the truck to make sure belt tracks like it should and no leaks.
Then on to the Supercharger!!!

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

Hey guys! well 1 step forward 2 steps back. I was able to get the front accessory drive completed and running, but when I went to install the drive belt on the supercharger the 8 rib belt touches the water pump pulley. I guess I have to change to a 2010-2015 Camaro water pump due to the domed pulley on a truck water pump. See picture.
so I ordered a new ACDelco pump and it comes in today. I will have to change the belt tensioner and idler pulley because the truck water pump and the Camaro water pump have different accessory mounts. Oh and I am sure the belt itself will have to to be changed due to needing a different length.
More to come....

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

I knew that most supercharger drives required the Camaro/Corvette setup. Did not know the belt rides in the same place with the Camaro/Corvette pump. Just a shorter pump and slimmer pulley. Good deal you do not have to change other accessories and pulleys. Hope the idler and WP pulley are the same size so the belt works.

Well since the Camaro water pump and the truck water pump do not have the same accessory mounting locations I had to change the idler location and the belt tensioner. Before the belt length was 111.5" after all said and done I needed a 100.5" belt

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

I added the correct length flanged bolts, torqued to spec and was able to start the motor. Man that Supercharger has a nice whine....OK back to the update...
The belts tracked nice but I didn't get to rev it up since I don't have an upper radiator hose (SS parts on order) and didn't want to run it too long.
I started working on the new shorter but taller AC condenser. I made all aluminum brackets for the condenser and picked up more aluminum for the inner cooler mounts.
Hopefully I can get the inner cooler brackets built this weekend and start the intake tubing.

Very nice. I like the aluminum brackets. Nerve racking drilling painted surfaces.... Usually goes fine with tape but still, there is always that chance lol.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

I was able to get the inner cooler brackets made and installed. I still have to clean up the edges and paint the top mounts body color.
Next is to install the grill and see if it clears. I have a feeling I will have to trim the grill louvers to clear either the edges of the inner cooler and/or the aluminum piping.
The hood lever misses the inner cooler by about 1/4".

Looking good. Maybe have to trim the hood latch brace as well. I am expecting that. Where did you source the condenser from?

your engine sits higher than mine and some of the issues I ran into installing supercharger. i had to cut a 1/4" off my cross member to clear the crank pulley. looking good.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

Richard I don’t think I will use the brace. Since the front end is a 67-68 the grill itself is part of the structure of the front. After I get the inner cooler plumbed I will install the grill and see how much trimming I will need to do and find out if I can forget about the center brace if not I will build something....

Oh sorry I forgot to get you the info.
The coil I received from old air products was 12x26 which equals 312 square inches. The one I ordered was 14x23 which equals 322 square inches.
This is what I ordered 100% aluminum
https://www.ebay.com/itm/184176408501

I will have to make some custom aluminum hard lines to get around the radiator and core support.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

Hey all, I able to install some inner cooler plumbing through the radiator support.
I am waiting on a new Mass Air Flow sensor and the weld on Bung for it.
I still have to install the Blow Off Valve, you can see the little black circle where I am going to install it.

I am not sure I like the intake tube and filter but I will work on it after I get it running on the Supercharger and the grill back on.

Thanks. Was looking at the ebay condensers myself. Want to get as large as I can fit for the 134a conversion.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

Hey guys I had to order the Holley throttle body adapter or wedge adapter to lower the upwards angle of the throttle body. You can see the black wedge adapter and how it lowers the angle of the throttle body from one of the previous pictures I posted.
I was able to finish the intake tubing with the new MAF installed.

I am still waiting on a few AC fittings for the condenser I relocated.

Now its time to tune!!!

Curious about the filler piece above the frame rails in front of the core support. Looking back through the thread I did not see any mention of it. Is this a stock 67-68 part or is it custom?

Richard are you talking about the black powder coated metal piece under the inner cooler? yes that is stock 67-68. I had it powder coated years ago. It just bolts to the core support.

Thanks for the response. Never seen it before, but then again I have not really worked on a 67 or 68. Wonder if it could be fitted to the newer models with a little bit of fab?
