Steering Gear Box?

My steering is screeching like a skinned cat. I have:

1. Replaced the Steering Pump and replaced with a new Referb from Autozone twice.
2. Bled the Steering Fluids
2. Changed the Belts twice
3. Bought a NEW Borgeson Pump from Summit.

Before I do all the work of pulling the Steering Gear box, does anyone have another idea on what my problem could be?

Re: Steering Gear Box?

id guess steering gear box if you did all that work. did the refurb pump come with a reservoir? if you had to place your old reservoir on the new pump it could be a restriction in your reservoir. how does the steering feel? also I just changed my box out. The only problem I had was I got a 2wd box from advance auto.... just make sure you get the 4wd box. it looks the same as a 2wd box except the spline is different. The 4wd box spline has a semi circle cut out on the spline where the bolt rides through. easy to find when you know what your looking for.

Re: Steering Gear Box?

New Gearbox did the trick. I just did not realize the Gear Box would screech like that. Always figured that sound was symptom of a bad pump...
