You aren't alone.. A lot and I mean a lot of the Highlander trucks had the seat covers replaced over the years. Talking with the son of the original owner of my truck he said his Dad hated the plaid seat when he bought the truck and promptly went and bought a good seat cover which reamined on for 30 + years. The Highlanders seem to be having a comeback these days. I've attached link to an ongoing thread on this site about Highlanders.

I'm glad this thread was revived. Im planning on going to buckets with a center console in my 72. Once she is back to good running condition that is.

Re: bucket seats and consoles

Here are some pics of mine. I use the cup holder style consoles for driving and keep the extra seatbelt style ones put up in case I want to change back to original. The drink holders are more convenient while driving.

Talking Re: bucket seats and consoles

The previous owner bought these buddy seats and had them restored. I personally love them but wished I had cup holders when the buddy seat is down LOL

Edit: just realized this is is a zillion year old thread, started in 2008! I blame c10boss_ LOL

Re: bucket seats and consoles

Not a huge fan of these 20+ year old high backs, but they came with the truck and are in good shape so they are staying for the foreseeable future. The buddy seat pulls up from the back for additional storage. I recently refinished the wood on the console.

I was noticing special-K's sig in another posting and he has a RIP at the bottom, I assume all former members of the board. The thread starter is one of the names listed, 72BLUZ.

I really like the '69 two tone. Here's a nice original set in blue.

We're boring. While I clearly love that center scroll....we've only done em in black. Next set I do will have some color.

Re: bucket seats and consoles

Do you make seat cover try to get some one to make my red two tone seats buckets and back seats. Got price from SMS auto fabrics for $775.00 just for the buckets didn't give me a price for the back seat.

I have no doubt that TruckWorld (they did ours) can make em however you want...I got both of ours from TruckSeats(Tim) here on the board...not sure he's still doing it. I know there are other vendors/suppliers on here that deal with TruckWorld (difficult though it may still be). My next set will go in a '70, so no two tone to worry about. But I hope you do have em stitched back to factory...it's a killer look.
