Mine sets a little higher in the rear (1 1/2") due to a added couple of leafs built like an overload spring as it won't make contact until waited.

Hm I like both looks on the old 4x4s. Little front high. but also the look with a little rake in the back. Hmm. I think that the 33s. Are a good size. Gives it that high boy look. I don't know why but always loved that look. Oven tho its a F@&D Thing.

funny, comparing the two tk's short and long beds, mine kinda looks like it's missing something lol! In the pic you can just see the rake and i have 10.50-15's.

the ft well-wells are cut high compared to the back. maybe just the look? If i took out the over-load springs it would sit even i think? Your tk is coming alone fine, and will be at least equal to mine!

Re: 1965 C20 fleet side longbed DD low budget build.

So we are expecting rain up in my neck of the woods. And I needed to put my 65 hood somewhere other than the garage...so I tossed her on the truck. Well I may have a slight second thought on the hood choice. But doubt it.. any thoughts? Also. An awesome suprize. Pulled the pan off my 292 for another forum member that is receiving it. and the rebuild tag on the freeze plug lone behold was there for a reason. New pistons. Wrist pins and what I think is a .020 over bore on the block or a .20 under for a ground crank. Not sure. But man its clean as a whistle. she sure was easy on the eyes after a day like today at the shop.

Hey Matt
I have a front park brake cable for a "long bed" and some stock column parts like turn signal switch if you want them....there's more in a drawer that you can look through if you want....cleaning up week for me...Joe
Most stuff is 63 and earlier but who knows what's actually in the mystery drawer

Re: 1965 C20 fleet side longbed DD low budget build.

Went to visit Fellow forum member joe pass. This morning. First thing, the pictures of his truck don't do it justice. That thing is all around awesome. Perfect clash of old school and hot rod. Love the truck. And love his shop. Whooee. The things I could get done in a shop like that . But he very generously passed on some parts he didn't have use for. And they will be put to use no doubt about it. Very nice guy. thanks man for whenever you read this post. Hope to see u around.

Re: 1965 C20 fleet side longbed DD low budget build.

Well. After the long weekend of huge plans for the truck. I managed to get busy all 3 days of my weekend. And had half of an afternoon to work on the truck . funny how life gets in the way. bed and cab bolted down and need to be aligned a little better, but it's 100 times better than how it looked this morning. I managed to sand my apache hood to 320g and still kept the factory paint. then waxed it. I was able to coat the bottom of the apache hoods support members. Still need to strip the rust off the sheet metal and do a little rust repair On hood corners. Decided to run the apache hood after staring at the 65 hood all week. Just looks better with the bubble hood..and my parts score. 4" lift springs from another forum member. 16.5 steel rim and 16.5 bfg m/t. for a full size spare in the bed and matching rim. Treads a little old but for a spare it's fine. And got some Y pipes I'm excited about. All in all a good weekend for sure.
