I have had the same experience with my son. I don't give him anything anymore. It took three different vehicles before I learned.

Years ago I gave my son a 68 long bed. About a year later he needed some money so, I bought it from him.

I fell in love with the twin to that car once. It didn't have the stripes or wheels. I married the driver, and traded the Nova for my first new Cheyenne C10.

I have truly been blessed with children. My kids soared when they left the nest, and I'm pretty sure I have the best two son in laws available.

Just came back from a walk with my honey. Dogwood in our front yard in bloom. Neighbor down the street has roses living in his tree. Hmm, pictures of course looked better on my phone=)

You're lucky, I have been considering killing mine lately. My oldest daughter's boyfriend has been put on warning, I don't like P.OS.'s and he's liable to become fertilizer.....

My biological father offered us a 2 yr old car (demonstrator). I didn't ask for anything; he had tracked me down 40+ years later. I happened to mention on the phone one day that I thought maybe we should find a car that used less gas than our Suburban and pickup. My half sister later told me that he had given my half brother a new Corvette in HS or college, and that junior went out and wrecked it and my dad gave him another one, which he went out and traded for another brand.

Now my dad and half brother in law are gone but the half sister and her mother are mad at me for some reason. Junior was never happy about me, but now I don't have anything to do with any of them anymore. Sad about the nieces and nephew, though - they seemed nice.

We still have the little 14 yo Chevy but I think we are going trade it in this year just because it has to sit about half the year because the roads get so muddy and slick.

Multiflora rose is obnoxious everywhere. We planted it as a gov't soil conservation program to create windrows and habitat. That program got cancelled when they saw what a mistake it was. Between the wind and birds that stuff would cover the earth if it wasn't for mowing and cultivation (and goats).

That neighbor needs to look around the yard a little more often. That's an invasive volunteer they neglected to pull up that's been growing into that tree for years. It is providing seed for all the baby multiflora rose to spread all around.
------

I stuck this dogwood in the ground a while back. It didn't put out full blooms this year. A lot of trees started out funny this year

Fun kind of cool!
The Severn River in MD can get flat enough for those. The race 1/1 scale on it

Clearing an area about 150 x 400 of woodland to make a polo field at a freinds horse farm . I'm getting as much wood as I can haul mostly white oak . Did three loads yesterday

Cutting down woods for a polo field? Such a waste. Just my honest opinion.

"The cove". The mountain valley in Garrett County, MD where my grandmother was born.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Not to be contrary but I see it as both parties benefiting from clearing that part of the property.

The photo of The Cove reminds me of a place south of Lawrence Ks. only no mountains but some substantial hills.
Looks like a nice place.

So that square arch flips over towards the front when the tongs hit the block, to pull the log all the way up on the trailer?

Do you just manually push the arch back to skid another log up to the trailer?

I toyed with an idea like that for a while but finally decided it wouldn't work well enough or fast enough. I ended up building a free swinging heel boom which worked good except the electric winch heated up, and then later built a hydraulic loader.

Works well . Jut release the tension on the cable and it falls back ready to adjust the chain
