Keep it lubed before using it and you shouldn't have a problem with them.

Re: Harbor Freight Air tools

Yeah, lubrication is key. I never lubed my craftsman impact wrench and it tood a digger on me after 8 months. My fault, not theirs.

Re: Harbor Freight Air tools

that is what the company i work for has for us to use sanders, impacts and die grinders. we are very hard on them and they seem to hold up alright. I've found that those impact guns make pretty good hamers too

Re: Harbor Freight Air tools

I have several Harbor Freight air tools. No problems yet(knock on wood)
I feel that if you make a living with them do not buy buy Harbor Freight, but if you just use them in your own shop they are fine.

Re: Harbor Freight Air tools

I have had pretty good luck with them. Sander, right angle die grinder, body saw, impact wrench. If they last only a year or two you buy another one or two or three for what it costs for the name brands.

Re: Harbor Freight Air tools

I buy HF air cutoff wheels for about $15 each and treat them as disposables

Re: Harbor Freight Air tools

I have a harbor freight cut off wheel that I got for 12 bucks, 2 years ago, and I use it just about every day at work. I almost didn't do it, but I figured what the heck.

Re: Harbor Freight Air tools

I have:

* 3/8" reversable drill for over 10 years,

* air body saw for over 10 years,

* small pneumatic rivit gun for about 8 years,

* 1/4" air ratchet for about about 8 years,

* 1/4" air die grinder for over 10 years,

As said before, keep em lubed before use, and you more than get you moneys worth out of them. THe ones listed about saw heavy use in the RV/aftermarket van conversion industry and are still in use in my shop at home. Everything else I own is Mac, IR, or Snap-On.
