body shop hack,bondo spreader

Sorry filler spreader. How many of you use a spreader and it wipes funny and makes you throw it away. I have found if you wipe the spreader with either lac thinner or spray some naked gun [spray gun cleaner] on it and wipe it down with a blue paper towel. Once it is dry wipe it on a good piece of cardboard. I used to go through several spreaders a week now I can't remember how long it has been since I had to change it, It has been months maybe last year! try it it is simple and saves you pennies. Jim

Yep, been there and done that with 8" and 10" taping knives. Far truer with steel than flimsy plastic. ... and I thought I was alone.

I have a full set of those steel ones bought maybe early 90's I didn't like 'em but maybe I need to give them another chance. Jim
