Very nice truck, color too. I like the 43 year in the family part, makes them a bit more special too.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

Hey Haminator,

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I'm working on my GMC is why I haven't been driving around. Just put new 12 bolt rear end in this week. Still gotta do rear brakes and some steering issues then it will be on the road again.

Looks like you have a collection going there. My truck has a good condition Chevrolet Tail-gate, I'm looking for a GMC. If you know someone might want to either buy the Chevy or trade a decent GMC let me know.

I don't really have any other old parts right now. A few of us Old Fart Hot Rod guys get together for breakfast every Friday at the PV McDonalds about 7:15 AM. Stop by and we'll meet and talk Trucks.

See ya around - Lee

Actually my son bought a decent GMC tail gate awhile back for project that now may not happen, I'll ask if he's interested in a trade or sell. I may be interest in it as well, can't have too many parts. I only have 6 of these right now. So on of you old fart buddies would be the fellow that recently got a 57 big window. I know him from UPS. I'm usually driving by with a mail load when you guys are there, I'll blow the horn next time.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

67 I bought a couple months ago for 1100 bucks. Plain Jane 3 on the tree 6 cyl. No rust, super original but had been repainted. Was a blue green color. The bed wood is even good. It had a camper shell on it for a very long time. Still needs a tire and a windshield and I'll start driving it. Runs great.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

69 Blazer I did some horse trading for. I mainly wanted the transfercase. I may be getting a 71 Jimmy with a bent frame so the 69 may donate its frame. It's sad that someone cut the A pillars off. It has some rust but could still be saved.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

A 70 C-30 that was a motorhome when I found it for 500 bucks. Super rust free, fact a/c, PS PB, 350 T400 (with out park still) 39843 miles on it. Bad part is the buckets and consol were gone and it has a giant hole in the back of the cab. Also someone stuck a 67-68 grill in it, doesn't look right at all.

Nice truck.
They rust in the desert too, look at my 72. Its a AZ truck and the rockers are gone. Maybe it spent some time somewhere else. I thought 1100 was a good deal, I couldn't pas it up. Now if I could just convince my wife it was a good deal. I may end up selling it or the 72. Waaaay too many projects.

And now the 68 ramp truck. Just waiting for a new engine if I can ever find the time. i'd really like to use it. I also want to enclose the sides of the ramp more, paint it etc. etc. It does have chrome wheels under that "rat rod" red.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

Thanks for the response Ham, The New 55 owner you mentioned is Steve. He bought the 55 from my good friend Sal (Black 59 Corvette) you've probably seen around town.

Most people know me around town & car show, cruise ins from seeing my Laguna Blue LS2 Miata. Years back I had a Orange 67 GMC SWB customized it and ran it on CNG (compressed natural gas) 400+ HP 350 V8. I was sorry after I sold it, and Today really wasn't looking for a Truck but, like you said of many of your "Finds" couldn't pass up the truck & the story.

Thanks for your help on a tailgate, look forward to meeting you sometime.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

Yep Steve. I thought he got a 57 and yes I've seen the 59 Vette around alot. i like when people actually drive their cars. My son said he would trade tailgates but yours might be a little nicer. I'll try to get you a pic. feel free to stop by some time, I'm usually around most days. 3 blocks north from Star Island motorsports, can't miss it.
