1987 GMC R25 Duelly???

Picked up an 87 GMC R25 Crew Cab with a duel rear end. VIN number on cab doesnt say. Did the 3/4 ton trucks ever come factory with duel rears? Or did someone add them? Also where can I find the VIN on the frame to verify that the cab matches the frame? And what is measurements for a Narrow Duel rear end versus a standard duel rear end? Thanks ahead, John.

Nope. One tons only.

Dual rear wheel is not encoded in the VIN; it is an option (RPO R05) on the model.

It will be on the top side of the top (horizontal) flange of the frame rail, typically midway down the wheelbase (kind of under the cab/near the fuel tank).

Pickup dual rears stick outside of the box and require the added Dooley fenders; Cab Chassis dual wheels fit entirely within the width of the pickup box (if it had a box on it)
