Update on Crate motor

Fired it up tonight. I havent hooked the electric choke up yet,so It didnt want to start at first, so I opened it just a bit and that did the trick. Had good oil and fuel pressure and set the timing. I must have the lines to the power steering pump reversed because it was overflowing.

Re: Update on Crate motor

You cant swap the power steering lines, one is a formed line with metal crimped at the ends and has metal fittings that screw into the pump and box, the other is just a regular type looking hose thats held on by hose clamps. I bet you got some air in the system and its purging itself out. Had that happen before.
