It's not the garage, it is what comes out of it. Has been a long time since I've accomplished much of anything. And like many, I spent years working on dirt floors with wood blocks for jack stands. Plus look on the bright side, back here right now we would love 45 degrees!

Here are some more views from our week end event.

We raised $2,000 for hospice. I am humbled by everyone's generosity!

And we had a great meal, using my wife's recipe for baked spaghetti.

Also had a fund raising raffle for nice prizes donated by friends and myself.

With full bellies, several settled in for a good old fashioned LS wiring bee.

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait

The week end was spectacular with making friends, building a Suburban, sharing / learning knowledge, fighting a blizzard and rescuing a car full of young women stuck in the snow.

The hospice people are so appreciative of the funds we raised, I am grateful for all everyone did and I know Cindy would have been very pleased!!!

Next steps, figure out tire and wheel fitment and determine then resolve any radiator clearance issues.

Oh, on that first picture, pronounce the managers name aloud to anyone sitting close to you. Giving credit to "Arrested Development." Just a chuckle to wrap up with.

Thank you for checking in.

I have no idea of where all the people came from, also have no idea of the distance they traveled.
But it’s really nice to see so many dedicated and skilled people for the good cause together!
Every day I checked the FB updates, too bad I couldn’t be there.
You may be proud of yourself Doug, and even so all involved!!

Kees, A couple of the participants travelled about 1,000 miles to attend. Seems everyone had a good time as they want to do it again next year. So start planning your trip...
Oh, additional T shirt sales increased the donation to $2,600, which we presented this morning. The Lord has blessed.

Looks more like a Burb for the moment.

That’s a great donation!

1000 miles....hmmm, that’s from my house to the middle of sunny Spain!
You guys and girls have lots of work done to the Burb.

I start planning, if it is my possibilities, I come over.

Thanks guys. Yes, the Lord was providing and folks were very generous.

For example, Cindy’s sister painted this cool painting of for the raffle. She used Iceburgh’s Burb for the model. I offered the raffle winner of the painting $100 because I really wanted it. He took it and promptly donated that to hospice fund.

We sold out of T shirts and orders continued to come in, allowing us to increase the donation to Lincolnland Hospice to $2,600.

Doug ...there is the fitting like I was referring to the other night at your shop...
I think they will fit the proportioning valve(must verify)... and then to the flex line ..and on to the brake hard lines...thus eliminating the moonshine still coils ...
im going to order some for Columbus as well...ive just got to verify the thread size in my prop valve...
(for correct fitting see smbrouss70 post below)

this picture is wildwood part 220-3406 ...this particular one is 3/8-24 to -3an
Excellent Greg thank you! Several of us were kicking around the moonshine coil issue on Sunday morning and were liking your idea with the flex line. Could be a clean and simple solution. I will keep following on Columbus to see how it goes.

With the front end tacked in place the Holley midmount accessory drive has plenty of clearance.

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait

You have the same proportioning valve as I do on my Blazer and it is designed for a 45° double flared brake line. The fitting that Greg shows would have to seal at the threads, which is not ideal on a brake system with such high pressures. It would be better to have it seal on the seat of the flare and use a fitting designed for that, like shown below. Here is a list from Summit of available fittings.

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait

Steven thank you for the information and the link to the parts!

And Greg, thanks again for the idea.

Due to the larger diameter of the rotor, Burb needed some bigger shop rollers. Sent this pic to some buddies and asked them which wheel looked the best as I was going with one of them....They were diplomatic. Actually the top one doesn’t look bad.

Doug, I've always liked the 5 star type of wheel. The swirl look is UGLY , even on the stock vehicle. Since these are rollers, what size are they, and what type will you run later?...Jim

I guess I'm the oddball, but I'm used to that. I've never really liked swirly wheels either, but I've always liked those Corvette wheels for some reason. I guess it doesn't really matter since they are just shop rollers anyway, huh?
