2005 2500HD concerns

Wanted to get some ideas on where to look for this issue.
Truck- 2005 2500HD 6.0 with 4L80E

From a stop there is a very slight slip felt when just pulling away. All shifts in the transmission are smooth.

Current truck has 33,800 miles. We purchased it about 9 months ago from the estate of my FIL. Surprisingly no other family member wanted a 15 yr old truck with 27700 miles on it.

I replaced the carrier bearing, lubed the yoke, and replaced the tail shaft seal due to seepage. Transmission fluid service by dropping pan and changing the filter.

Still has a slip. Is this just how a 4L80E operates? Hoping it is not a torque converter issue.

My 2018 V6 silverado has the rubberband from a stop light, as did my 2007 4.8. Plus just about every vehicle I ever had has had some rubber band for a stop.

Alot of it has to do with effective gears ratios.

Thanks for the reply. I also looked at the u joints. They seem to be okay. The rear end ratio in this truck is 4.10:1

Unfortunately it's normal for a slushbox transmission.
The torque converter lags somewhat then begins to hook up and it feels more than a little vague.
You don't really have a locked drivetrain til you clear the lockup MPH at the specified RPM.

This is the first truck we owned with a carrier bearing. I am relieved to know it is not something serious with the transmission. Hoping this truck will last a while. Based on many comments it should do well into 200k.

Thanks to all for the responses. Chalk up the slip to the carrier bearing/two piece drive shaft.

I have two 4L80E's - one in my swapped C10 and one in my Suburban. The torque converters flash up initially and to me, anyway, felt like a slip at first. It just sort of seems like its how a long first gear in a heavy vehicle with a higher stall RPM torque converter is going to be have with a stock-type converter.
