I'd like to see some engine pictures from low milage, survivor trucks.

I'll start it off with a picture of that blue, 1970 C-10 with 80 miles.
( you can't get much more original then that )

Steve, your big block reference pic is a great one - actually shows a clear shot of the CA emissions crap intact, ON an a/c truck, and WITHOUT all the a/c stuff in the way. Valuable shot for a restorer - thanks for posting.

love these type of pics. Engine bays how they should be not a bunch of plastic hoods and crap all over. No wonder todays stuff needs high tech machines and engineers to fix.

Except that you don't need to fix it... no carbs to rebuild, no mixtures to adjust, no choke to mess up, no condensor or rotor and no points to burn out, plugs and caps last 100,000 miles. But I'm with you on the plastic cover stuff. I never really understood the ZR1's plastic window for looking at a plastic engine cover!

Well you just basically listed all the things that can go wrong lol. All IMHO are minor. Wait until you have to get down and dirty on something that has a sensor and relay for everything and its all tied together by a computer that would make NASA jealous. Modern vehicles definitely have their place but I hate working on them. I was born in the wrong era. I would have loved to be a mechanic in the 50 60 70's.

Steve, I have pics of that 80 mile pickup from the nephew of the deceased owner taken the day he found out what was in that neglected shed. I will see if I can scan them. They aren't great quality as they were printed from pics he loaded onto his cpu. Crazy story on that truck, but it is legit. Trevor

Thanks, Trevor . . . I was hoping someone might have some more pictures of that truck. All I have are blurry screen saves from the video that isn't available anymore. There are MANY things on that truck that nobody has seen before. I'd especially like to see a close up of the "8 350" sticker on the passenger side valve cover to help with my project this winter to have some duplicated.
