Found a period picture of the Fremont,CA GM Assembly Plant dated 8/72 for those that might be interested. There have been a lot of changes there since then.

Thanks for sharing SS Tim. Great info and photos. A better and simplier time in the Bay Area. Today that same stretch of freeway is 4 lanes in each direction and traffic is averaging about 75 mph ( 10 mph over speed limit).
