‘73-‘87 shock mounts to ‘68 frame

I’ve been reading threads for a few hours and can’t find the answers I need. I know a ‘73-‘87 front crossmember with suspension will bolt into my ‘68 1/2 ton frame. Will the shock mounting points be the same and at the same angle? Will the steering gear box be a direct fit with no modifications to a ‘72 steering column? Should I use the ‘73-‘87 engine mounts and frame brackets or ‘67-‘72 engine mounts and frame brackets?

Re: ‘73-‘87 shock mounts to ‘68 frame

The upper front shock mounts are in the same position from '63-'87 on the C series frames. A '68-'87 power steering box will bolt up to a '68 C series frame. The '72 column should not need any modifications for the power steering box as they are already the correct length. What engine mounts is a personal preference. In my opinion the '73-'87 engine mounts are a much better design than the '63-'72 mounts. To use the '73-'87 mounts in a '63-'72 C series frame with little to no spacer on top of the frame, you will need the frame brackets from a C20 or C30. The C10 brackets will require a bit of a spacer on top of the frame unless you do some cutting and welding.
