Talking Remember when

This is for the guy's over 40 who remember going out on a date for the weekend meant you had to clean up the vehicle for your parents so you could drive it to pick up your girlfriend.

I did this for over a year before I had enough money to buy me a car. I would have mom's car all cleaned and ready to go on Friday night when dad got home even if it was raining out!
Once it was cleaned and he said yes I go out and flip the air breather top over to give it a better moan!
Mom had a 454 Caprice so it sounded really good!
This is in the ramp truck.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Remember when

I used to do that to my Dad's Buicks as well...

Also got good at pulling the resonator "2nd muffler" off his old electra with the 455 in quick time. Made it sound mean. LOL!

Re: Remember when

Flipped filter lid and opened secondaries has got to be high up on the list of sounds that always make us feel good. Then again, fart is another. So not such an honor I guess.

Talking Re: Remember when

That was one of the worst butt chewing's I ever got from my dad over a car. He had a company truck and let me drive it and I forgot to flip it back over. He came in the house and chewed my butt good.

Re: Remember when

I had no idea about flippin the lid until about a year or two ago when I had my truck dyno tested for the first time and John the dyno operator did it, I was like whoa, that's cool!

My Longhorn has had the lid flipped ever since I've owned it.

Re: Remember when

I got my first paying job at 14, and got a motorcycle for transportation.

When I turned 16 in February, it was cold, and my dad said to my mother that I would have to drive her car to work. She said I wasn't driving her car.

WE went down to the Chevy dealer and they had a nice 57 210 2 dr for $350.

My dad paid $150 of the price, took it up to the tire store, put a recap on the right front, handed me the keys, and said "It's yours to pay for and keep running".

I worked as an usher at the theater until school was out, then went to the log woods. How's that for a change of occupations?

Re: Remember when

What's all this remember when? Remember before I put the open element on? Flipping the lid is still the first thing I do on a 4 bbl with stock air cleaner. I guess some things never change. That's how I ran my present '72 before putting the open element on. Those secondaries like to be heard!!
