MII control arms

I'm looking into doing an MII frontend. The market for MII parts seems endless.

My plans are to piece out the setup vs. buying a complete kit.

I've came across a company called Scorpion Products. Is there stuff any good?

http://scorpionproductsinc.com/index...roducts_id=246

Jegs has also gotten into the market. Is their stuff any good?

My gut feeling tells me that they're made overseas. I really like the Jegs Speedmaster control arms off hand though.

Any info would be great.

Chris.

Re: MII control arms

54 Chevy.

My plans are to do it in stages.

My cheap side is conflicting with my do it right the first time side.

I know the lower arms need to be strong. So I’m inclined to coin up for them.

How necessary is it for the uppers to be just as strong?

Re: MII control arms

Think about this for a minute. A m2 weighed about 2500 lbs. And your wanting to put it in a 4250 lbs car? Their arebetter options out there.Doing it in stages will cost more in the long run.Look up NO LIMIT or some of the other builders like TCI Hoskiss Detroit Speed etc .Mustang 2 stuff belonges on light weight street rods. THEIR GEOMENTRY LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIRED.

Look at fatman fabrications kit for your truck. I finished a 55 truck for a guy and he had the fatman stuff front and rear. It drove good.

Or you could even put it on a s10 frame for the cost of a mustang 2 kit http://www.code504.com/1949-1954-sho...onversion-kit/

I don't want to get into a long drawn out debate. I feel the MII kits are more than satisfactory for pretty much anything out there. I also have some ideas on how to make it better than what most kits provide.

A stock version of my truck weighs about 3500-3800 lbs. My current engine/trans combo weighs about 300 lbs less than the old 235 with the iron cased trans. I'm going to dump the HO52 for an 8.8. So, there should be more weight savings there. Moving the tank to the rear should shift a little weight too.

Anyhow. I'm going to be using a CPP crossmember with Wilwood Pro-Spindles and hubs, which is the biggest reason I'm piecing it out. I'd like to do a brake upgrade using 12.5" or 13" late model Mustang components. We'll see how that goes.

As far as the control arms go, I'm just trying to decide if there is some good quality stuff out there that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
