Have not stated engine in 3 years???

So I am getting ready to start the engine in my C10 and it ran good before I parked it. Besides the obvious like new fluids and plugs. What else would you recommend I do before starting it? Just don’t want to cause damage to anything. Thanks

When you pull the plugs, put a little penetrating oil in each of the cylinders and turn it over by hand. If you're not afraid of pulling the distributor I would do that and prime the oil system.

What's been said....and prime the engine for sure. Good way to make a cam go flat is to start a dry engine.

Was fuel stabilizer ever added to the gas tank when it was parked?
If not get several gallons of new fuel and make sure you get that in the tank...ideally to the majority.
What here is what I do when I'm starting up a vehicle that has been in storage and it is definitely in line with what the guys have posted here...particularly, pulling every plug and putting a good shot of oil physically into every cylinder, just make sure you put all the spark plug leads back on the correct cylinder!!

Then I put a socket on the main central (large) alternator bolt in the middle of the pulley and (with a long extension) use that pulley advantage to slowly turn the motor over a couple of turns.
After that, I pull off the coil lead to the distributor so the engine can't fire. Then I use the starter to turn the motor over a few times in short bursts until the oil pressure gauge starts to move up....this doesn't take long, and then you know you are getting oil pressure.
At that point, I re-install the coil lead....and fire it up.
I've never had any bad long term affects on any of the trucks that I've done this with.

Just fire it up and hold it about 3/4 throttle and it will be fine. Just kidding I would pull the plugs and put a little oil in but I think pulling the dist and priming it will a drill is the best way to go.
