home built smoker
i always wanted a bigger smoker, my son-in-law works at a sign company and got me the pipe it is off fall from sign poles the fire box is 24" 3/8 the smoke box is 36" 3/8 works great i baffeled the inside so it would not be that much hotter on the fire box end it also has a water pan. it is 48 " long

Whow! that is some nice work with metal.. Looks like you could smoke a cow in that .. again I really like it ,,I can taste the corn on the cob just looking at it.. plus salmon,,plus sturgeon ,plus jerky,, ect ect ect ...

Great job on the fab, I like the skid it's on too.
 Just one question, does that grill stick out all the time, from the pic it looks like it goes all the way back and stick out? Or is it an illusion? If it does stick out, why that design? not negative- just curious. I have used prefabbed smokers mostly, with the exception of my uncles old refrigerator smoker for salmon and steelhead. |

sub-versive it is just pulled out in this picture it goes all the way in i made it so you can take it out to clean it and the baffel below it.

I like it. How is the heat distribution when smoking?
I am planning on building one as well, I think I'll be using 2 55 gal drums unless I find some pipe like you have for real cheap.

Mmmm,smelt.Love them crispy critters(well,not too crispy if smoked).
That`s a fine job on that smoker,alright.You could put a big ol`turkey in there.

Very nice smoker.Wish I could weld like that and I would build me a bigger one also.Right now I have a small store bought one that works ok.Just cooked some pork butt this weekend.9 hours at 225-250.man oh man meat falls apart...
