72 Gas Pedal Replacemen

I just purchased a Brothers gas pedal for my 72 that currently does not have one. I am not with the truck for the time being to confirm, but I dont beleive I have a pin or any way to attach the pedal to the truck. Pedal just has 2 raised 'lips' for attachment the accelerator 'rod'. I will try an attach a picture. what am I missing?

I apologize for the pic, the floor mat is covering the tip of the accelerator, but I think shows most of it,.

Side note... does anyone else else have a brothers pedal and think its pretty cheap/flimsy?

There's a pin and spring needed to attach the pedal. I'm sure they're available aftermarket, and maybe in the help section of the parts store.

Where are you at in TN? I have a spare pedal and spring if you need and not to far away.

Ok guys, I think I see what you mean. LMC catalog has an exploded view, page 134,

http://media.lmctruck.com/pdf/CB/cbComplete.pdf

(3) PEDAL RETURN SPRING CHEVY GMC 71-72 (1) 3.69 2.95
(4) PEDAL RETURN SPRING PIN CHEVY GMC 71-72 (1) 2.44 1.95

engineer_gregh, I am about 30 miles west. I appreciate the offer, but since they're so cheap and Im about an hour from you Ill just throw them in with my LMC order. Thanks lot!

Re: 72 Gas Pedal Replacemen

I have to revive this old thread. I am also replaceing my peddle with a SandManDesigns one.
I have the accelerator return spring pin, but I don't know what holds it in there. Is there supposed to be a nut on one side? Or does it just stay in place with the spring? Mine is old and rusty and I can't tell if it's whole.

Thanks

Spring tension holds the guide pin in place. The pin has a groove in the middle. This rides in a hole on the center of the Pedal.
If you get a fresh spring and clean up the other stuff, you'll figure it out. It's not rocket/surgery.
