Nice Garage

I recently moved into this place and opened the garage for the day, what do you guys think? Kidding, I stumbled across it, place is for sale and he's not shy what's in his garage. https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...-19658#photo51

Figure the Cobra AC is authentic? I think that's a GT next to it. My dad had a red 56 T-bird long ago. What year is the Vette and is that another Mustang behind it?

Re: Nice Garage

I dig it. I like it's location away from the main house, a true man cave.

I wonder what's under the cover?

Re: Nice Garage

The house is a bit excessive, but the garage is perfect.

Re: Nice Garage

Very nicely designed home. I'd call the realtor but I'm not a fan of front load washers

That's not an AC Cobra

Re: Nice Garage

They blurred the license plates on the cars but the listing gives the address where they are at.

I can't figure out how a 2003 Porchey fits in with the rest your garage. Know the difference between Porche & porcupines? (kidding). My former step-dad restored old ones, though I never witnessed it. Of all things he was a cowboy.

Surprisingly homes aren't so expensive there before taxes. That place would sell for more locally, and we're not close a lot of California.

Re: Nice Garage

Based on the hood, the Vette is a '58. I'm not sure the red is the correct red. The original (signet red) seems a bit more orange. Of course, the picture may cause that.

Re: Nice Garage

this chair unnerves me, ever since I read a japanese manga about a chair with space for a person to sit in and "become" the chair.

the cobra looks like a fiberglass car, its missing the rivets around the perimeter of the hood. not knocking it though, it could be a very expensive reproduction, its got the wheels right for sure. a real s/c would be worth more (much more!) than the house and probably wouldnt be stored with the hoi polloi.

You don't see too many real ones.

I worked with a guy that read the meters in a wealthy neighborhood. And there was a guy with a real deal Cobra on his regular route. He would talk to this guy every month when he read the meter. My buddy said he was a nice guy and liked talking about his car and showing it to him.

One day my buddy comes by to read the meter and the car was all smashed up. So he asked the guy what happened.

The guy said that he let his teenage grandson drive it.

Re: Nice Garage

He WHAT???!! Some thing you just don't even do and that would be one! I'm sure he learned that.

I bet this is a foreclosure because some sucker came upon some money and blew right through it and he lost everything. To get the value of the home the realtors "staged" the cars, leather chair, turtle, etc

No really, normally realtors don't want all your crap present to take pictures or to show. I guess when you have a high-dollar collection they bend towards offering "suggested use" ideas for the targeted market

Re: Nice Garage

When my eldest son was in high school and graduating, one of the dads rented his son a Viper, with predictable results. Nobody hurt, but that car was TOAST. My son got a '75 Dart that was so slow that he got hit in it by someone running a red light. It couldn't even get out of it's OWN way.

Re: Nice Garage

We got my older son got a '65 Biscayne Wagon 6cyl/3spd to start driving in. He drove it to college, 7 years in all. When he was giving his cousin a driving lesson in it, Cousin George ran it into a tree turning into Grandma's driveway. Bummer. It's not like he was ever going to own a three on the tree or need to drive one.

OMG. Back in the day a ran a small "automatic" car wash, which is code for I had to wash most of the car first, geezus don't steer, and don't drive anything through you want whole on the other side. I was the only employee loved that job. Anyway, it was a gas station too. A regular was a real nice old man with a perfectly in-tact 68 Shelby GT500. Only downside it was an automatic. He only came in for gas

I heard a story a guy had his AC stolen, ended up a fight with the insurance company, they figured 100K or less if memory serves me. I suspect he chose the wrong insurance co. and had to chalk it up to an expensive lesson. At least one of my cousins still owns an roadster, they live in a different world.

This is a beauty. As much fun it must be to drive a Roadster I'd take a GT500 all day.....

Re: Nice Garage

Not including insurance and taxes, it's only $8,500/mo for 30 years... I got that...

Now if the cars are included in the sale... I mean, they're in the pictures like they're included
