Savoy Brown- Street Corner Talkin'

We probably already talked about Savoy Brown... didn't we?? But I just stumbled into this on You Tube and it is taking me way back. I never had this album, but my fellow rider had the 8-track. Listened to this over and over. I even remembered his mint green '65 Biscayne 327 car that my memory has been leaving out. It's got to stop! Now I'm remembering his girlfriend Jeannie from that time. Music is sure great for inspiring nostalgia

Savoy Brown! I met Kim Simmonds about 10 years ago at Ground Zero in Clarkdale. He got up and jammed with the house band for a couple tunes. It was great!

(<did I really use that?) was the album I had. That's pretty cool you met him. That group must be the best known group that didn't exactly make it big yet lasted a long time and put out a lot of music that a lot of people never heard. This was right smack in 1970!

I've been meaning to tell you I've been listening to the Warren Haynes station on Pandora a lot since you mentioned him. That station mixes in heavy doses of Govt Mule, Joe Bonamassa, and Chris Stapelton. Good slice of ear candy.

I'm glad to hear you found a great place for music you enjoy. Yeah, I'd say these days Warren is a big force in bringing/keeping the good old American roots music together. He seems always be "be right there" or not to far from it. This stuff just gets better. And I mean the same old recordings to what just came out.

Saw Gov't Mule in 2016 at the Aragon in Chicago. Warren still kills it.

I listen to all sorts of stuff, and it really depends on situation. Classic rock and folks from parents, then I grew up on street punk and metal/hardcore/screamcore

. That scene kinda faded circa 2007. Started listening to more prog metal, and gravitated to the growing EDM scene. Listened to hip hop (since its basically the new pop music) as well. There's time for everything.

Also, just saw my first Phish show at Allstate on Friday. Face.Melted.

We went and got our Parrot Head on a couple weeks ago. Jimmy was Jimmy, entertaining as usual, but this young lady named Caroline Jones opened up. Mostly a Country sound, but she pulled out a Resonator and slide and did a little ditty similar to this:
