Re: my 64

If you have one of those little portable sand blasters then that always gives it a nice "rough" finish that leaves future scratches somewhat hidden.

I agree....plus you don't want the pedals too slippery.....especially the brake pedal

Might be a good place to add some flares to those holes if you have a way to do that......flared up of course.

Re: my 64

I wouldnt bother polishing your pedal, unless you wear fuzzy slippers when you drive. I'm sure your shoes will unpolish it pretty fast.

Re: my 64

I am sure you have a little piece left over from what you made the pedals from, give it a shot and see if you like the look. Or do it on the back of the pedal that way if you dont like it none will see it.

Re: my 64

Hit that pedal w/a vibrating sander and a 220 grit pad and call it done.

thats actually what i did at first and didnt like
thanks though

ok the person that had this truck before obviously didnt know what they were doing and instead of recessing the dished in power steering box mount in the frame they just welded a chunk of another frame onto the original flat one
im changing over to manual steering but im going to go ahead and put the power steering mount on the frame just in case i change my mind later on
i still have to weld it in
i will get the welder back that i was using, tomorrow my neighbor loaned it to me (thanks Neil)
its a little hobart 140 MIG and works great
alright now for the pics
1st pic is before and the others are after
i thought the last 2 pics looked cool

Re: my 64

thanks frizzle and joe
i have no idea what the section came from but the PO welded it on
it stuck out the side of the frame about an inch when i started but now its flush with the frame
and for the core support mount it is permanently mounted (welded on)

Re: my 64

that will make for some nice burnouts

I had to weld up the frame on my '80 this past weekend, got the steering box off and lo and behold it has the same shape as the piece of frame you welded into your frame...mystery solved
