Help me with my Fathers Day Gift: Longbed Stepside C20

I am looking to get a factory stock 3D rendering of my dad's 1970 Longbed stepside C20. My dad has always been a strict stock guy, so I want to get it right.

Any pics of the truck stock? I believe my dad's truck was originally white. Did the 1970 C10s share the same colors and options, as the C20 longbed stepsides?

These trucks look awesome with the Barden bumpers (posted an add for the bumper, in the for sale section but haven't found one for the past two years). His current bumper is very rusty. Is it something that I might need to have fabricated? The bumper will be the other part of his father's day gift.

Any info is much appreciated! Thanks!

Nice longstep. Is the bumper rotted or just with some surface rust. If it's just surface rust, I'd just clean it up and repaint. I need one for mine too, but haven't found one yet either.

Unfortunately, it is pretty rusted through. We are also going to change the bedsides, with ones that we bought from Mar K.

Can't help with your request but you sound like a great son. I can tell you from experience that your gift will be well received and he will be proud of you everytime he looks at his truck.

The cap on the right rear is the correct cap for the truck

Here you go... I hear they're hard to find. Those of the same design with the gold bow ties (after 1973) had concave centers as opposed to convex prior to 1973. The concave centers can easily be popped out however.

Re: Help me with my Fathers Day Gift: Longbed Stepside C20

i've got a barden bumper off a 72 fleetside if you want it. you will need to get a welding shop to put the outer plates on it for the stepside but that shouldn't be a big deal. i'm in the bay area too so it'll save on shipping-just come and get it. (925)642-5931

3/4 ton wheels were white. At least from 1969-1972.

The one I the picture I posted is an original 16.5" wheel from my 69 that I repainted.

Re: Help me with my Fathers Day Gift: Longbed Stepside C20

I just found a set of oem hubcaps on the boards. Does anyone know which paint will work on the hubcaps?

I want them to all match but only one of my hubcaps have the blue emblem and black painted on it.

Is the black flat or satin finish?
Where do I find blue paint that matches the emblems blue?
Thanks!

From previous threads but no personal experience, I've seen Krylon True Blue #1910 and Ford engine blue recommended for the bowties.

I think the satin would be best for the black.

Here's a thread from the FAQs on painting.
