I am planning on putting mine between the frame rails right before the rear bumper.

Here's my 1983 factory short bed, stepside, 6.2 diesel. Silverado, with hd suspension, 700r4, and 3.42 posi. Now it has Bell tech 3 in. spindles and a Western Chassis flip kit. It is now my daily driver, getting 22mpg!

We can leave pre 86 LHD, But it's a ***** to see and overtake. C20 and C30's here released here in the 70" RHD
