Wow! I don't usually like the stock look, but this might just be killin' it as far as what everyone could want in a smart, clean semi-stock look. Way to go..you nailed it!

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

i figured with a fair share of the 8-luggers out there running 16.5's, this'd be a good place to ask...

Any of you guys lowered on 16.5's? If so, post em up and let us know your tire size.

Also, what's the smallest 16.5 tire you guys have ever run? Any pics?

Do your wheels stick out of your wheel openings? I am interested in buying two of these for the rear of my truck but i dont want anything sticking out past my wheel openings.

Best behind shot i could find. Im thinking no matter your tire, a ten will stick out a little.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

That sucks. I want to get some for my lowered c20 but i cant have the wheel stick out. They gotta be tucked in. I guess the 16×8s would do the trick

not necessarily. If they offer the same width/diameter wheel with a higher offset, you should be fine.

sboris -> How much clearance do you have between the tire and the inside of the wheel well?

Plenty I think, would have to measure for exactness. The offset would definitely be worth checking out. I'll try to slip out tomorrow nite and put a tape on it.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

I don't know how well this will translate to your C-20, and with my lift, I had to run a straight edge down. Sidewall is 1 1/8" and the edge of the rim is another 1 1/4. Again, don't know if this will help. Mine is eaton rear out of a 70.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

thought this would be a good place to ask.. will the 8 lug aluminum wheels off of a 2007 chevy fit my 1972 c20? I read some years will fit but not sure about 2007.

2007 should fit. I believe it was in 2010 or 2011 that Chevy switched over to metric.

Not bad, pretty faithful to their original 16.5" 8 lug Ansen Sprint slots of the 70's IMO.

I must have these!!

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

I found a place online that has a set of 4 used but restored slot wheels in 8 lug and 16x8 (instead of 16.5) I would have picked them up but they want $2600 plus shipping.

It seems that the American Racing Ansen Sprint wheels in 8 lug are not selling well. Most places that have them listed are out of stock or list that 2 are in stock. And those places either are using the 5 lug photo or no photo at all. They seem to be going for about $200 each which seems reasonable. I probably would buy them today if I could just see them mounted on something. I wonder if they will be discontinued?

I contacted American Racing and this wheel has been discontinued in 8x6.5 though they are still making it in 8x170mm as well as other 5 and 6 lug versions. Too bad, they were one of the nice alternatives for older 8 lug trucks.

Curious, do you have center caps too? do they show a brand? do they slide in from the back? having problems locating a set for my wheels.

ARE shows these in 17x8 and 17x9 "blank" (undrilled) stock. If ARE wont drill them to 8x6.5, many wheel places and machine shops have the proper indexing jig to do it properly and accurately, although it will add cost to the package.
