10 years gone??

I bought this 68 short bed from 71swb4x4 in the summer of 2008. It has been a slow build in my garage as time and money allow. I did all the rust repair, body work, frame blasting and painting, and assembled the body for paint. It is currently at a local shop for paint, hope to have it home soon for the final assembly.

Re: 10 years gone??

I was starting to feel bad.

I bought my son a 69 SWB 4WD in 2010. Frame off, rust repair......the works.

It has been done in stages. The inside of the cab is finished and the inside of the beds and fenders have been painted.

383/350/205 with a 6" lift.

Thanks for being a tad being slower than me. LOL

your project looks good and I like that shade of blue.

Should be sweet.

Re: 10 years gone??

Love to see this. I took mine apart in 92 I believe. Drug it around the country in pieces while I was in the Air Force. Finally got the frame and some rust repair done in 2003. It has sat in the corner of the garage until this past August. It just shows that whatever you make a priority in your life gets the most attention. Good luck with your build. It is going to look great with that blue!

Re: 10 years gone??

Nice! Had mine 18 years, been apart for 17 years, slow build frame up. It's killing me it's taking this long, so you've made great progress Great color choice!

Re: 10 years gone??

It sure didn’t seem like 10 years, but family always comes first. My wife was the one who made me realize how long it has been when she asked for a garage stall back. Really hope to have this finished by summer. I work low hours in the winter up here, so need to hit it hard when it gets home.

Nice truck Bugz, my brother had a nice 68 step in high school. He just bought another one that will start getting some work soon hopefully.

Is the tailgate lettering also white? I am thinking of painting of also doing a two tone but wondering on tailgate lettering, you have pic of your tailgate are the letters in white as well?

It’s the factory 508 blue and 521 white, have a 69 that was used for parts that was that combo. Always loved the look of those two colors together.

Thanks...I preferred the fleet side, but the stepside has grown on me.

That blue is EXACTLY the color that I want for my 67 GMC 3500! What color is that exactly so I may get the paint book?
