68 project truck

Just purchased a 68 project truck that needs everything. A couple weeks ago am going to try my first ls swap into this thing.

Looks like a good project. You will like the LS.

There is an LS Swap forum on here too so check it out.

Re: 68 project truck

Very good MW
Got any info on your swap that you would share?
Looks like I see an automatic dipstick so I’m guessing you’re using a 4l60e. What are you using for your fuel system - pump, tank etc. ?
Looks like fun, glad to see you making progress.

I just bought an ‘05 pickup that was rear ended so I can use the Ls and trans to put in my ‘68 c10 suburban.

Re: 68 project truck

I had the guy throw in the factory tank from the Silverado the 5.3 came out of gonna see if i can make it work otherwise I’m sure I’ll get a fuel cell installed i plan on lowering the truck quite a bit so we will see i shortened it from long bed to short and pretty much threw away all the tin the box was so rusted out and previously hacked patches in so I’m gonna start with new repop. I do plan on using a complete stand alone 5.3 fuel system just not sure where to go. Guy who lives by me used the Holley terminator x? Or something along those lines and loved it. Any suggestions.

Re: 68 project truck

I had to look twice. I saw a truck that looks almost identical to that on Craigslist up in Jordan, I think that one is a 67 though. I was looking pretty hard at the guy's posting because he has a long step bed that would look great on my c20.

Re: 68 project truck

Excellent. I’ve been wondering about whether the factory/late model fuel tank would work. I’m yet to pull the bed off my donor to see what it looks like- if you weren’t planning on going super low do you think it’d work?
