Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

looks like it was nearly finished , too bad you didnt held on to it .
then again my father used to own a first gen corvette (you know the ones with the white sides the teeth in the grille and the 6 cylinder ) my mother made him get rid of it when she got tired of having two kids sitting on her lap , that car wouldve been worth a fortune now

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

all it needed was a new dash pad and to fix the AC. otherwise everything else was NEW. that and a new motor after I did a little sat night drag racing with locals and started a knock.. that's why I traded it off.. guy came to me with a custom slammed El Camino and I took it. DOHHH!!! LOL

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Yeah you'll always regret selling that truck. I feel the same way on my old one, but take the enjoyment of building them and having someone else enjoy them too. That's the thought I kept having. I never really understood why my uncle, and cousin could build these awesome cars, trucks, and street rods, and then just sell them. Then my uncle told me one time that his enjoyment is watching the car transform from start to the finish. Then when it's done he gets bored with it because he wants to work on something else.

I only know the rear , because I just redid it. front & rear shackles and lowering leafs. My own design of C notch.
how knows what the PIO (prevoius Idiot owner) did up front. it's too low for NJ i can tell you that.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Ha. It looks good though. I understand what you mean by PIO. The PIO i bought mine from cut the front springs. Then heated the rear leaf spring and made some home made shakels by cutting the stock ones in half and added a couple of inches. Needless to say its a weird feeling when it gets up to around 55. I bought a kit from DJM last week, Hope to get it on this weekend.

Nice! When you can, can you snap a pic of the front end head-on please? I have the rad support and everything off a 91 Burb, I'm just trying to decide if I want to leave Fred a GMC or make it a Chevy. I've never been fond of the GMC grills except for my 2002 1500HD, but yours looks pretty good with the grill insert..
