seat replacement question

I've got a 98 with the cheap Cheyenne bench, thinking of going to a bucket set from a Tahoe or Suburban. I assume they bolt in easily? How much leg room do you lose on a standard cab pickup, I'm 6'5" so I can't give up too much.
When the pickups were sold with buckets were they the same as the Tahoes ECT?
It looks like from my U-Pull_It trips that the inside door panels come off and all the power window ,locks ect, come with it. How much trouble is it to remove the wiring from the donor vehicle to hook up the windows and locks?
Thanks
