Hey John! Vintage boats are long gone, but the camper is going strong! Just did a major overhaul this winter. Wife is pregnant right now so no camping for the rest of the year. Very exciting to camp in the new burb next year with our baby girl!

Beautiful oriinal Burb and I am always curious when I see gems like your Burb surface. Did you find it on Craigslist, eBay et al or word of mouth, from the neighbourhood etc.

Craigslist my friend. I actually wrote the guy before I had the money for it just to say hi and asked him to keep my number. He gave me his contact. About 6 weeks later I had the money so I reached out to him. The ad wasn't up any longer and I feared it was sold. He said he let the ad expire, but was about to repost. I said NO! I'm on way! And that was that.

My grandparents had that color scheme and towed their Airstream with it. Great looking truck and in amazing condition. Would you be willing to document your suspension mods? Either a build thread or even a regular thread would do the trick. I'd like to follow along.

Thanks for the info and now time to enjoy that gorgeous original Burb.

The Tundra behind it pulled it out of the rut you see in the picture haha. Good camping hauler. Fit the tent you see next to it, all the supplies, 3 guys and a dog and then had the wood burning stove hanging off the hitch.

1985 Suburban 2WD, 42k actual miles, untouched. But tempted to do a mild drop...

Very close! Yours looks great. Mine is dark blue/silver.
The first thing I did was remove the Dee Zee aluminum running boards. I've had maybe (10) 84-87 squarebody shortbeds, but this is my first Suburban and I love it. Seems everybody else loves it too. The older guys, the younger guys, the gals...
The last inspection sticker on it was from 8/97. Very apparent that it has been stored inside. Actually still has a new car smell inside. Mint interior.
In the couple weeks I've owned it, I've replaced the rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes, brake pads, radiator, hoses, belts, exhaust. Plan to install new tires because these were installed in 1995 and look brand new.
I've got the window sticker, dealer order copy, warranty cards, owners manual, dealership paperwork, and original keys. Love finding them like this!

That is awesome! Pretty much the exact way I found my burb. Only my tires were installed in 2001. Haha.
