Like the title says, need to swap the end piece onto a nice and not rusty / pitted shifter handle? I tried and NO luck. I don't think it unscrews. Don't want to crack or break it...

It is pressed on. Good luck getting it off without breaking it! You can buy repro knobs, btw.
