Anybody have factory 1968 396 truck engine that will share some casting numbers?
My 1968 Chevy C10 came factory with a L47 396 and 400 turbo trans. I cant find any info about truck L47 396 engines. Were these engines rated at 310 hp?
Could somebody share part casting numbers for... Intake Heads Exhaust Manifolds Carb What carb should it have? |

I am starting to think 1968 C10 trucks optioned with the 396 were very rare? Maybe less than 50-75 produced from the factory?

Way more than that produced. But maybe not that many still around with the original block!

It's in my garage, awaiting its renewal, somewhat disassembled (engine and engine out). Folks told me I needed to scrap that pile of junk. I would just say to them, mind your own beeswax, it's mine, leave me alone!!!HH, I hope you can get yours going asap. Im taking too long...
