402 Advice Needed

I need to detail my 402, the paint on the engine looks crappy. I also need to fix the rear main seal. If I go to the work of pulling the engine I will consider improving the torque by cam, heads, etc. Has anyone found a great combination of parts that can be dressed up to look "stock" yet improve torque?

It is very important to me to maintain near original appearance. I would even consider an aluminum-headed 454 crate motor painted orange and fitted with the original exhaust manifolds, pulleys, brackets, etc. and leave the 402 on a stand for safe keeping.

What do you think?
