I love that semi wheel conversion. Very well done. I would love to set an old tow truck up like that one day. Just flat out cool!!! Or a fire truck like Dan's.

ME TOO! How cool would the early iron hauling cars be?Just a canvas for cool door art,too.There`s something super nostalgic about an old wrecker from any year.That`s why I wanted my`71.Nice pickups are great,but to roll in with a wrecker...now that`s just too cool.
That`s a sweet one there.

Here`s a different twist you don`t see .It was built this way in the day.I believe it`s Austrailian:

You know, making one look EXACTLY like that can be super costly but if you watch out there are some good deals out there on partially completed projects (like mine was), then with some judicious parts buying and plenty of DIY you can make a truck that compares very nicely with a show truck like that....at least I think so.

Yeah they are.You almost have to look past them now to what they were.They`ve been overused ,but I feel still have their place on anything that once did run them way back before all these other wheels.Chrome reverses were the first custom wheel.Smoothies came right along.You go through all this effort for the wide steel wheels color,and a cool set of hubcaps.It`s expensive.It`s a great "hybrid" stockish look,very tasteful.Smoothies are so simple,are caps too,and are old school.

Not a truck but this '36 2 door coupe is OUTRAGEOUSLY beautiful to me. I haven't really been that big a fan of Chevys of this era but I would be proud to own a car like this.

...And another. Not a Chevy, a 35 Ford but just trying to keep us all in the mindset of the pre-'47 trucks. There are some really great examples of what we can do with our trucks. I saved this picture thinking about black over red for mine. Still haven't decided; I'm leaning toward the dark olive of the '40 Chevy COE I am also posting if anyone knows what color it is I'd really appreciate it. The olive has a touch of brown in the green...I think.

That is a nice color. I believe it is Brewster Green, code 267. PPG match may be 43845 or 44621.

Thanks for the info. I thought of Brewster too but have only seen the color online, never in person. I thought Brewster was more of a true green than this brownish-dark green that the COE truck is.

i don`t know the color,it`s truly classic.It seems an awful lot like an IH color I`ve seen.What I like is it`s dark,but has a milky nature to it that allows t to pick up on foreign light and color.Some darks just "stop" other colors and are just a blank.I`m not sure if I`m explaining what I see.I don`t just mean flats,I mean the shiniest darks can just look blunt,like it`s the end,nothing bounces off it.(maybe I`m revealing how messed up my mind is...lol)
